Health Care in US

March 24, 2017: Since Affordable Care Act (HR 3590) was signed into law by the 44th President Barack Obama, Republicans are resisting the implementation of this Act arguing that it is too costly and is not working for American People. Major achievements of this Act include inclusion of pre-existing health condition that was previously denied by the health insurance companies. Since it was introduced, it covered a significant number of previously uninsured americans. While the public debate is going on the merits and demerits of some of the provisions introduced in this bill, House Speaker Republican Paul Ryan introduced ‘American Care Act’, which could not be acceptable even by his own republican members and had to be withdrawn today.
