Courses I teach

Software Engineering Fundamentals (SEN601), Capstone Project Courses (CSC686-7), data mining (ANA 615), etc.

This month course
  • Data Mining Techniques (ANA 615)
  • This course covers application of methods using techniques for data analysis, text mining, and predictive modeling for exploration and knowledge discovery. Design of objectives, data selection and preparation, analytic method selection such as classification and decision trees, and predictive modeling are used for a variety of case studies and practical industry applications.

Dr. Datta has a special interest on database, data analysis and predictive analysis, also termed as data mining (a misnomer). His own projects utilize MySQL (an open source relational database management system). Although MSSQL has also been used for the development of the web application that is now used for iservenccfrc.org. He also took training in Oracle (database version 8), R (an open source software for statistical analysis), Python (an open source high level programming language), and SAS (sas.com) for predictive analysis. These interests culminated from his research on healthcare.

In addition, Dr. Datta often seeks collaboration and partnerships for working on Precision Medicine.
